Dark Pearl Oolong

Dark Pearl Oolong originated from eastern coast of Taiwan in Taitung by Dr, Wu of Taiwan government Tea Research Extension Services.

Cultivar, it could use any cultivar, however, in our experiences, Gin Shuen, Da-Yeh (Big Leave,Bold Leave) often are the most favorite.

Dark Pearl Oolong matters NOT the cultivar, but the 2-staged process, i.e. 1st part is Oolong production & the 2nd stage an expedited oxidation like black tea.

Currently most of Dark Pearl Oolong production is in Taitung fronting the Pacific Ocean on eastern coast. Dark Pearl Oolong is currently the highest oxidized oolong.
